My name is Liu Yi, and I would like to share my experience of studying at the Kotlyarevsky Kharkiv National University of Arts (2013-2019). When my parents and I started thinking about choosing a foreign educational institution, we stopped at this university. Our choice, among other things, was influenced by the feedback of foreign students who graduated earlier. It is important for a student of the Department of Opera Training to get enough practical classes in class with a teacher and accompanist, and the curriculum allows you to do so. I also liked that students have the opportunity to regularly perform at concerts, participate in music festivals and competitions both in Kharkiv and in other cities of Ukraine. By participating in these events, we have the opportunity to demonstrate their art and at the same time get stage practice. I defended my dissertation and received the PhD degree. This expanded both my theoretical and practical knowledge.
. I studied at Kharkiv I.P. Kotlyarevsky National University of Arts for 8 years. There I got my bachelor’s and master’s degrees and then, after a postgraduate studies, I defended my thesis and gained my PhD degree. This increased my chances in the labor market, and owing to my high-grade education I got a good job. Now I am teaching solo singing at Hunan First Normal University. I would like to thank all the university teachers, who helped me to become a professional, for their devoted work and guidance. It is significant that the studying process was well organized, and when the students had questions regarding their studies or other they could easily get the answers. During all the years of my studying, I received help and explanations when I needed them. In my opinion, this is essential to know that you can rely on somebody when you are far away from your home. Also I would like to say that Kharkiv is a perfect place for students. The city has a pretty good infrastructure.
