- implementation of analytical and prognostic activities to encourage foreigners to study at DNU;
- providing foreigners with organizational and legal support in the implementation of the procedure for recognition of foreign documents on higher education, if such are submitted by them upon admission to DNU;
- registration of student tickets, record books;
- management and control of the work of the preparatory department for foreigners ;
- keeping records of the success of foreigners' education, monitoring their implementation of curricula, liquidation of academic debts, work on the renewal of education and transfer of foreigners, etc .;
- preparation of consolidated data and current monitoring of the performance of students;
- together with the admissions committee to perform work on the distribution of graduates for foreigners by specialties for enrollment in the students of DNU, as well as in the organization and conduct of entrance examinations with graduates for further enrollment in their number of students;
- registration of the certificate on the termination for foreigners;
- keeping records of applications of foreign entrants, protocols of interviews with them, as well as documentation on enrollment of graduates and foreign entrants in the students of DNU;
- on the basis of documents provided by the deans' offices of the faculties, registration of bachelors, specialists, masters diplomas for foreign graduates and ensuring their legalization and affixing an apostille;
- development and updating of the Regulations on the admission of foreigners to DNU;
- participation in resolving issues of providing foreigners with additional paid educational services.
Training of foreign students started in Dnipro National University in 1989. In August 1989 the dean office on the work with foreign students started its functioning. at first foreign citizens from Mali, Zimbabve, Peru, Czech Republic and Laos arrived to study at Dnipro State University in the 1st September, 1989. Nowadays in the structure of Oles Honchar Dnipro National University functions the department for training specialists for foreign countries and academic exchanges. It was founded on the basis of the dean office on the work with foreign students in 2007. Over all the period of its functioning the dean office on the work with foreign students, and soon the department on training specialists for foreign countries and academic exchanges, 2700 foreign students from 53 countries of Europe, Asia, Africa, Latin and North America got higher education, 38 foreign graduate students obtained the PhD diplomas, 220 foreign students passed the training courses in DNU. Admission of foreigners for studying in DNU is done on the basis of international treaty of Ukraine with other countries; treaty of Ministry of education and science of Ukraine with ministries of education of other countries; contracts between DNU and international organizations, firms and natural person. Foreigners arriving at DNU start their study at the preparatory department for foreigners. It was founded in 1991 and nowadays it successfully functions. During the preliminary training at the Preparatory Department the main goal is forming of knowledge, skills to guarantee further successful studying of foreign students in higher educational establishments of Ukraine as well as creation of all necessary conditions for fast adaptation in the new social cultural environment. Preparatory Department provides preliminary trainings in engineering, technical, economic, health safety and biology, humanitarian spheres of study. Subjects studied at the Preparatory Department are: Russian language, mathematics, physics, chemistry, fundamentals of informatics and computer techniques, drawing, country-specific studies, fundamentals of economics, history of Ukraine, biology, fundamentals of Ukrainian and foreign literature, economic and social geography. Faculty of the Preparatory Department is represented by the qualified specialists. Language training of the foreigners is provided by the Department of Linguistic Training of Foreigners. It is made of 1 professor and 9 associate professors. Specialized subjects are taught by the best instructors of basic departments of DNU. There are 2 professors, 3 associate professors and 3 assistant professors.
