Specialty: Cardiac surgeon. In 1999, he graduated from the Kyiv Medical Institute of UAFM (now Kyiv Medical University) and received a qualification as a specialist, specialty «Medicine». Gavrilo Kovtun is the Head of the Department of Myocardial Pathology and Organ and Tissue Transplantation of the Heart Institute at the Ministry of Health of Ukraine. He has been involved in heart and great vessels surgery in adults and children for more than 10 years. He performs a full range of cardiac surgery: coronary artery bypass grafting (CABG) in coronary heart disease, prosthetics and plastic surgery on heart valves. Gavrilo Kovtun is a regular participant in international professional congresses and conferences, which allows to implement new advances in modern medicine to improve the approach to patient care.

I am a citizen of Nigeria. I was born in 1977, I am happily married and have kids. I enrolled Kyiv Medical University to study medicine in September 2015. It has always been my childhood dream to become a medical doctor. For years I waited for the dream to be fulfilled, and the fulfilment of that dream finally began from joining other medical students in one of the best private medical universities in Ukraine: Kyiv Medical University. From class 1 to my last class I had never taken my study for granted. I was committed and dedicated to studying on both lectures and practical classes. It may amaze many that I never skipped any classes throughout my six academic years because I valued and prioritized every knowledge that our intelligent teachers had to offer and share. My dedication and commitment was evidenced in my excellent performance at KMU as wess as ‘’Medicine’’ ‘’KROK 2’’ Integrated Test-Based Exam where I had the highest score in entire Ukraine in 2021. My passion was energized by the numerous knowledge acquired from KMU, making it possible for me to start observing clinical practice in government and private hospitals in my country. I have had several opportunities to work with various doctors in my country and here in Ukraine, especially in NEW LIFE CLINIC, owned by Dr. David Noga, where I have assisted in numerous surgical operations. As a graduate of Kyiv Medical University, I actually aspire to become a surgeon that will be known all over the world and make my University proud of me. To both the old and new students on Kyiv Medical University, I want to use this medium to encourage you all to be committed to your study, respect all your teachers and staff of the University.
