The main function of the Preparatory Department for Foreign Citizens is to organize training of international students to enter higher education institutions of Ukraine. Today, the Preparatory Department for Foreign Citizens enrolls students from Angola, Algeria, India, Pakistan, Ecuador, Egypt, Jordan, Syria, Iraq, China, Congo, Cote D'Ivoire, Cameroon, Ghana, Nigeria, Tanzania, Central African Republic, Turkey, etc. The number of foreign students constantly increases. Admission to the Preparatory Department for Foreign Citizens is carried out on the basis of full secondary education and invitation for study. Foreign Citizens of the Preparatory Department learn the Ukrainian language and improve their knowledge in general and theoretical disciplines required for the admission to higher education institutions of Ukraine. General and theoretical disciplines are divided into the following fields of study: engineering (Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Informatics, Drawing), biological (Chemistry, Biology, Physics) and economic (Mathematics, Informatics, General and Economic Geography). Foreign citizens, who successfully passed graduation exams, are granted a Certificate of Completion of the Preparatory Department in a state-approved format, which gives the right to enter IFNTUOG, as well as any higher education institutions in Ukraine. Duration of studies at the Preparatory Department for Foreign Citizens according to the full training program is 10 months (from October 01 till July 31). In some cases, such training is carried out according to the short training program, which lasts minimum 7 months. Admission of foreign citizens according to the short training program is carried out until January 31. Training on this program ends at the end of August. Foreign citizens, who speak fluent English and plan to continue his/ her further studies in English language, can be enrolled for the short training program at the Preparatory Department for Foreign Citizens after language examination. Duration of studies is at least 6 months. Admission of foreign citizens who are fluent in English is carried out in January and February. Foreign citizens, who successfully completed this program  are granted a Certificate of Completion of the Preparatory Department, which gives the right to enter the 1st (first) year at IFNTUOG in English group without entrance exams and English exam and interview. Preparatory Department for Foreign Citizens provides not only appropriate level of foreigners’ training, but also creates all conditions for the social, psychological and cultural adaptation of foreign citizens to the conditions of study and residence in Ukraine. Foreign students, together with the teachers, visit museums, theaters, concerts, go on excursions, participates in flash mobs and various events and like to travel all over Ukraine with great pleasure.
