With the aim of language and special studying of foreign citizens for further studies in Ukraine as well as the creation of all necessary conditions for quick adaptation in the new socio-cultural environment of foreign citizens, a preparatory department has been created to prepare for entry into the universities of Ukraine. Education at the preparatory department is carried out in Ukrainian or Russian. There are two levels of studying in the preparatory department: During 1st year of education students study Ukrainian or Russian language, geography, mathematics, physics, computer science, biology and other disciplines depending on the chosen direction. Teaching disciplines is provided at a high professional level. Students are provided with textbooks, scientific literature, guidelines and materials. After the successful completion of the session, the student of the preparatory department receives a certificate of completion of the preparatory department. A state-issued certificate obtained by a foreigner allows a graduate of a software program to continue studying at any university in Ukraine, as well as applicants are enrolled to study at the LNAU in all specialties without entrance examinations. Period of studying at the preparatory department – from 6 months to 1,5 years. Documents required for admission to studying:
  1. Application form;
  2. The original and a copy of the document on previous education;
  3. The original and a copy of the document (appendix to the document on education), which contains information about its performance in academic disciplines;
  4. Original and copy of birth certificate;
  5. A medical certificate of health certified by the official health authority of the country from which the foreigner arrived and issued no later than two months before leaving to study in Ukraine;
  6. A copy of the alien’s passport or stateless identity document;
  7. This medical insurance policy (except for foreigners arriving from countries with which agreements have been concluded on the free provision of emergency medical care);
  8. 12 photographs size 35x45 mm.
Documents numbered 2, 3, 4, 5 must be certified according to the legislation of the country of issue and legalized in the prescribed manner.
