Invitations are issued to foreigners in respect of whom the educational institution provides consent to be admitted to obtain an appropriate degree of higher, postgraduate education (advanced training, internship), postgraduate studies, doctoral studies, clinical residency at the preparatory faculty, department (unit), training for academic mobility programs or programes to study the state language and / or language of instruction.

The validity of the invitation is established by the educational institution, taking into account the Conditions of admission to study at higher educational institutions of Ukraine, approved by the Ministry of Education and Science, as well as the duration of the relevant educational and professional, educational- scientific, scientific programs, academic mobility programs, programs to study the state language and / or language training, internship, preparatory faculties, departments (subdivisions).

The invitation is valid for no more than six months from the date of issue.

An educational institution that has invited a foreigner for training (internship), provides timely information to the authorized state institution, the relevant state border guard body, on the details of the arrival of the foreigner invited to Ukraine (arrival date, flight registration number), and also provides information about the person authorized by the training institution to meet a foreigner and accompany him from a checkpoint at the state border of Ukraine to an educational institution, with the obligatory indication of the surname, name and patronymic of this person, passport data and data of operational contact.

The original of the invitation received is the ground to apply to the relevant Embassy / Consulate of Ukraine in the country of origin or residence of a foreigner in order to apply for a visa to study in Ukraine.
